    COMMUNICATIONS
    Blog: Provide your time and talent to help solicit members to write relevant articles, gather newsworthy items, and industry updates. If you want to know more about the meetings industry beyond MPI and MPIPHL (and want to improve your writing skills), this is your committee!

    Website: Review website and communicate needed changes to the chapter administrator. Includes updating event postings, reorganizing content, etc.

    PR/Special Publications: Seek to have media outlets promote chapter events, share chapter news and promote content that advocates tor the meetings industry in Greater Philadelphia. Committee will also work with EI and Sponsorship committees to create and publish EI Supplement.

    Community Outreach: Community Outreach Committee is responsible for identifying and facilitating opportunities for the membership to involve themselves in activities benefiting Philadelphia area charities and institutions.

    Social Media: Responsible for create and posting content daily on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels. Team is responsible for creating event pages on Facebook for all programs and to promote chapter initiatives through additional content posts and drive engagement on all social media outlets.

    Email: Create weekly Connects E-Blasts from content provided by various committees and submit to chapter administrator. Creativity is welcomed!

     

    EDUCATION
    Monthly Programs: Provides interesting and cutting-edge programs for monthly educational meetings, including marketing, securing guest speakers and activities designed for the professional development of our membership.

    Education Institute: coordinates the annual day-long education program held in the late winter/early spring including marketing, logistics, securing special keynote & luncheon speakers ending with a round table discussion on what attendees learned from the day’s programs.

    LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
    Responsible for the development of processes, procedures, tools, and programs to support the
    development of chapter leaders, effective succession planning, recruitment of volunteers and the annual transition of volunteer duties. Programs include Committee Sip N Sign Up Networking Events and the All Team Meeting.

    FINANCE
    Special Events: Responsible for planning & executing all fundraiser events such as Bowling and Silent Auction. Committee also plans & executes Awards Event and MPI After 5 Networking Events to make your membership fun and exciting!

    Sponsorship: Engage potential sponsors, maintain current sponsor relationships and ensure that sponsors receive value to their investment. The funds raised through sponsorship benefit our members as sponsorships allow the chapter to produce educational and other events that helps the membership professionally.

    Venue Procurement: Responsible for securing venues for all our events & education programs and works hand in hand with all our committees in finding the right location at the right price!

    MEMBERSHIP
    Membership Retention: Provides ongoing communication with members to ensure Chapter programs and professional benefits are provided through our Chapter’s activities and projects. Committee also develops member recognition programs and drives efforts to increase member engagement and committee participation.

    CMP Study Groups: Coordinates the study course programs held each fall and spring to prepare participants for the semi-annual CMP exam. The committee plans the schedule and organizes the site-selection and facilitators.

    Connections Campaign: Responsible for the promotion of the MPIPHL Connections Campaign, which tracks and promotes member to member business interactions, as well as recognizes members for their efforts to buy MPI.

    Membership Recruitment: Focuses on the growth of our Chapter through the development of
    campaigns that identify and target prospective new members

    Discover MPI: Coordinates informal networking events to non-members 3 times/year to recruit new members.

    Student Affairs: Focuses on the extension of our Chapter membership into the community to students, academics teaching hospitality/meeting planning related courses and mid-career professionals to assist their understanding of and development within the industry. Committee also coordinates a Student/Member “speed” networking program in conjunction with a fall monthly program.

    PRESIDENT
    Awards: Focuses on the yearly award criteria planning, voting and distribution of our Chapter awards, as well as scholarship programs.

    Nominating: Focuses on soliciting and interviewing future board members and creating the slate for the following year.
