    Advocacy

    Advocacy Committee is responsible for identifying (with the approval of the President/Board) and facilitating opportunities for the MPIPHL membership to become involved with government issues and educating the public.

    Awards

    Awards Committee will focus on the yearly award criteria planning, voting and distribution of our Chapter awards, as well as scholarship programs.

    Awards Gala

    Awards Gala Committee plans and manages all aspects of the Awards Gala. Bring your creativity and the ability to have fun!

     Blog

    MPI to Eye is now a blog with posts ideally published one to two times per week (Wednesday and/or Friday) and a twice-yearly published magazine which includes a supplement to Education Institute distributed to attendees of the event and an Annual Yearbook mailed to all MPIPHL Members. Provide your time and talent to help solicit members to write relevant articles, gather newsworthy items, and industry updates. If you want to know more about the meetings industry beyond MPI and MPIPHL (and want to improve your writing skills), this is your committee!

    CMP Study Group

    CMP Study Group coordinates the study course programs held each fall and spring to prepare participants for the semi-annual CMP exam. The committee plans the schedule and organizes the site-selection and facilitators.

    Community Outreach

    Community Outreach Committee is responsible for identifying and facilitating opportunities for the membership to involve themselves in activities benefiting Philadelphia area charities and institutions. While in the past the committee has assisted numerous charitable organizations, this year we are planning to develop strong, steady relationships with three charities. As a committee member, you can help choose the direction for the coming year.

    Connections Campaign

    The committee is responsible for the promotion of the MPIPHL Connections Campaign, which tracks and promotes member to member business interactions, as well as recognizes members for their efforts to buy MPI.

    Education Institute

    Education Institute Committee coordinates the annual day-long education program and tradeshow held in the spring.

    Email Committee

    The Email Committee will manage the digital newsletters for the MPIPHL Chapter.  This includes the weekly Connects, twice monthly stand-alone email, and any other email communications such as sponsorship spotlights.  The Email Committee Co Chairs will manage the Marketing/Communications Calendar, and provide updates to the Director of Communications.

    Fall Social

    Fall Social Committee is responsible for planning all aspects of a fundraiser in the fall, such as a silent auction or casino night.

    Leadership Development

    Leadership Development Committee is responsible for the development of processes, procedures, tools, and programs to support the development of chapter leaders, effective succession planning, and the annual transition of volunteer duties.  Programs include Committee Sign Up Day and Leadership Day (or event).

    Membership Recruitment

    Membership Recruitment Committee focuses on the growth of our Chapter through the development of campaigns that identify and target prospective new members. Committee includes the Ambassador Club which is responsible for meeting and greeting attendees at all Chapter functions and providing a pre-meeting session for both non-members and new members to share Chapter information and benefits.

    Membership Retention

    Membership Retention Committee provides ongoing communication with members to ensure Chapter programs and professional benefits are provided through our Chapter’s activities and projects. Committee also develops member recognition programs and drives efforts to increase member engagement and committee participation.

    Monthly Programs

    Monthly Programs Committee provides interesting and cutting-edge programs for monthly educational meetings, including guest speakers and activities designed for the professional development of our membership.

    Nominating

    Nominating Committee will focus on soliciting and interviewing future board members and creating the slate for the following year.

    Sponsorship/Advertising

    Sponsorship and Advertising Group is responsible for consolidation all of the Chapter’s request for Sponsorship, Partnerships, etc. into one comprehensive strategic business development plan so that we are able to raise more funds to benefit our members.

    Past Presidents' Advisory Council

    Past Presidents’ Advisory Council is made up of past chapter presidents and they work on special chapter projects.

    Public Relations/Special Publications

    PR/Special Publications communicates Chapter activities and meetings industry news to our industry peers, general public and the media, as well as coordinate the annual special publications: Education Institute Supplement and Yearbook. Each of these publications are multi-page printed booklets for member and sponsor distribution, and will include industry related content.  Public Relations efforts will maintain the relationships with area publications (such as the Philadelphia Business Journal, Inquirer/ Philly.com, Pennsylvania Meetings+Events magazine, and Mid-Atlantic Events Magazine) along with other Associations (ILEA, and other MPI Chapters) to ensure that our monthly meetings and special events are publicized.

    Roundtables

    Roundtable Committee plans the topics and speakers for the roundtable sessions held prior to each monthly meeting.

    Spring Social

    Spring Social Committee is responsible for planning a spring fundraising event, such as a golf outing or bowling outing.

    Social Media Committee

    The Social Media Committee will manage the online profiles for the MPI PHL Chapter including: Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.  The Committee will need to synthesize information into bit-size pieces for the different social media channels. This Committee is great for members who want to learn more about online marketing and social media management.

    Student Affairs

    Student Affairs Committee focuses on the extension of our Chapter membership into the community to students, academics teaching hospitality/meeting planning related courses and mid-career professionals to assist their understanding of and development within the industry.

    Venue Procurement

    Venue Procurement is responsible for securing venues for the chapters programs and events.

    Website

    Website is responsible for updating and maintain the current site to ensure we are meeting our members news needs, calendar and job bank etc., as well as tracking. This committee will also track google analytics so the Chapter can follow online trends on what information is being accessed.  This committee is great for anyone interested in digital marketing and website management.
